Changsha

Hello everybody, we're having a great time in China. We spent 1 day and 2 nights in Beijing. We toured Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and climbed the Great Wall. We've seen some amazing things so far. Of course the real purpose of this trip wasn't sightseeing, but to adopt our new daughter. We flew into Changsha yesterday afternoon (Sunday) and got her last night. We completed the Chinese portion of the adoption this morning (Monday). Now we wait for the Chinese paperwork to be processed and then move to Guanzhou to complete the American immigration portion. She's a wonderful baby, very quiet and calm. She went to sleep at 8:30 the first night and we had to wake her up for breakfast at 7:00 the next morning!

We've had some interesting meals here. This morning for breakfast I had lotus root dumplings (tastes just like sweet potatoes), fried rice, and mad carp on a stick (I'm not sure why the carp was mad, but I figure it probably had something to do with the stick).

Well that's all for now. The hotel in Changsha had good Internet access so I'll send emails regularly at least for this week.

I've attached a few pictures. The filenames should explain what each picture is.
